DIEGO SUAREZ(norhtern part of Madagascar)

I am going to write about a beautiful city which is located in the northern part of Madagascar.  Its name is Diego Suarez or Antsiranana. Diego Suarez is a bay in the north of Madagascar. Some people say that Diego Suarez is among the most beautiful bays in the world. I cannot confirm that because I’ve never been abroad. Antsiranana has many special places which make it different form the other cities of Madagascar.

The mining activities of local people are fishing, tourism, and agriculture. Here, most of the people are peasants and fishermen. Like the other sea coast of Madagascar, it has a port. But apart from that, Diego Suarez is famous for its beautiful bays, Ankarana natural reserve and the Amber national park (parc national d’Ambre). In fact, Diego Suarez is a bay. Some people say that Diego Suarez is among the most beautiful bays (beaches) in the world. I confirm this information even if I have never been abroad.   These are the beautiful bays (see photos) that you can see in Diego Suarez:

–          Sakalava bay;

–          Dunes bay;

–          Emerald bay

I the natural reserve of Ankarana, you can find a lot of lemurs, reptiles, birds. The reserve has waterfalls (chute d’eau) and some lakes of crater. After the natural reserve of Ankarana, you can visit the Amber mountain national park (tropical forest) which is located at 35kms from the city. In this tropical forest you can find different types of birds, lemurs and reptiles.

I do not have too much time to write all the good things that you can find in Diego Suarez, but I can tell you one thing, if you want to visit Madagascar, I suggest you to pass by Diego Suarez. You will have the opportunity to meet its people (Antakarana people), and visit its national park and natural reserve.
