Cela fait 6 mois que je me suis installé dans la ville de Tamatave. Ici, comme dans d’autres régions de la grande ile, beaucoup de gens exercent le métier de mpaniera. Je me souviens de mon départ à Tana. Lorsque je suis venu à Ambodivona pour trouver un taxi brousse à destination de Tamatave, j’ai été immédiatement accosté par une dizaine de personnes. Les uns ont tenté de prendre mes bagages tout en me forçant d’aller vers un mini bus : « Aty ramose Tamatave direct zao a, mora be ny frais » ; d’autres ont essayé de m’emmener vers une destination inconnue toute en murmurant ceci dans mon oreille : « atsy ambadika atsy razoky tsy ampy olona iray tonga dia mandeha zao a.» Finalement, Radoda (un des mpaniera) m’a emené devant un “sprinter matanjaka be”. La galère ne faisait que commencer car après avoir donné 1000 ar à Radoda(mba mametraka kely), j’ai été obligé de resté 2h de temps dans le taxi brousse. En effet, je n’étais que le 5ème passager lorsque Radoda m’a fait entrer dans la voiture (énorme déception), Radoda m’a menti (rire). Lorsque je suis arrivé à Tamatave vers 16h30, j’ai été encore accueilli par des mpaniera « mila taxi ianao ramose ? Aiza ianao no aterina? Aty misy pousse morabe razoky a… »
Quelque jours après mon arrivé, je me suis promené au marché afin d’acheter quelques fournitures. Et voilà que des mpaniera se dirigent vers moi : « inona atao anao ramose, farafara, sa fanaka ? tsika aty tonga dia manana mébla vita @ palisandra mlay b an. »
C’est vrai que ce n’est pas bon d’être accosté par des mpaniera au milieu du marché ou dans une gare routière. Il y a même des groupes de personne qui sont contre leur présence. Mais personnellement, je n’ai rien contre eux, je suis au contraire pour la promotion de ce métier. Les mpaniera nous aident beaucoup dans la vie quotidienne. A titre d’exemple, il est plus facile et moins couteux de chercher une maison d’habitation par le biais d’un simple mpaniera que de contacter une agence immobilière. Ils ont juste besoin d’un peu d’encadrement(par la commune peut être?) et de civisme.
